Deutsche Welle installed a 2 mm curved video wall.

Under the direction of BFE Estudio und Medien Systeme is being installed in studio 3 in Berlin, of the Deutsche Welle channel, a curved video wall of Eyevis which will serve to provide background images in live news programs.

For the installation of this video wall, 144 high-resolution LED modules are being assembled with a distance between pixels of 2 mm. This 24 square meter wall will display images, graphics and video through three Full HD signals.

Berlin's Studio 3 will be premiered in a ceremony that will bring together more than 2,000 guests at the Global Media Forum, Deutsche Welle's international conference that will take place from June 22 to 24, 2015.

The eyevis LED modules have been selected for this project for their high brightness and their adaptability to adapt to the lighting conditions of the studios. Thanks to the processing electronics it integrates, it adjusts to the 3200 Kelvin color temperature required in this environment. On the other hand, its front access facilitates maintenance operations, individually for each of the modules, and, in addition, when it is installed it can be placed a few centimeters from the wall since it does not require anyone to access from the back.

To realize the integration into the wall, Billion Points Film/TV und Event Ausstattungs and eyevis have developed a special frame that produces the effect on viewers that the video wall is floating in the studio.

In addition to participating in the installation of the video wall, BFE Studio und Medien Systeme is incorporating six GVG LDX type cameras with new filters, specifically designed to be used with the Led video wall. The high-resolution content displayed on this video wall is delivered live thanks to Orad's Canvas technology.

To control the basic functions of the Led video wall, a system is used Crestron and thanks to the representation systems of Vizrt Live graphics and social media elements can be embedded. It can also be used to create augmented reality graphics. The data necessary to level spatial perspectives in relation to the camera image is provided by robot Camerobot.
