Deutsche Welle to launch 24-hour channel in English
With a budget of 290 million euros, its programming will consist of news programs, magazines and documentaries.
The German Deutsche Welle will launch an English channel next June. Its programming will consist of informative schedules, magazines and documentaries.
Starting on June 22, coinciding with the celebration of the Global Media Forum conference, the German public will broadcast four channels: America, Latin America, Asia and Arabia.
DW in English will aim to inform international public opinion in depth about the problems in Germany and their own points of view through reports and news, with a public budget allocation of 290 million euros.
Deutsche Welle Europe has been broadcasting for more than 20 years via satellite through position 13º East (Hot Bird) with 18 hours a day in English, and through its website.
