Walmart TV Studio

The largest retailer in the world, Walmart, inaugurates its new Walmart TV Studio within its brand new corporate campus in Bentonville (Arkansas, USA) equipped with an impressive curved LED wall from the Spanish manufacturer Alfalite, which offers a high-level virtual production experience.

The installation is made up of paneles LED Alfalite ModularPix Pro 1.5 ORIM 1/16 VP XR which form a 10×4 meter display, equipped with processing Brompton, and acts as the central hub of the studio's virtual production environment.

The Alfalite LED Wall, made up of 160 panels, has been designed to integrate into virtual production and extended reality (XR) workflows, allowing Walmart TV (WMTV) (Walmart's internal broadcast network) create immersive content with unprecedented flexibility. Thanks to its curved design, the screen offers a 6400x2560 resolution pixels and benefits from Alfalite's exclusive ORIM technology, which improves durability, expands the viewing angle up to almost 170 degrees and ensures exceptional color reproduction and brightness.

The image quality and colorimetry of ModularPix Pro panels allow the WMTV video wall to be XR compatible, enabling the seamless integration of digital elements with the physical world. The curved screen projects virtual environments or dynamic scenes in real time, allowing presenters and cameras to interact naturally with digital content.

“The Alfalite screen, with its 1.5 mm pixel pitch, incorporates ORIM technology, which not only protects it against impacts and fire, but also extends the viewing angle to almost 170 degrees,” he explains. Dave Great, Chief Engineer AV/Broadcast Engineering at Walmart. "The color reproduction and brightness are extraordinary. When people walk into the studio, they are impressed with the image quality. The ability to switch between physical and virtual sets with just a few clicks makes a big difference in our new television studio."

The installation has been possible thanks to the collaboration between Alfalite and For-A America, which facilitated the integration and implementation of the project. With this next-generation LED technology, the Walmart TV Studio optimizes your internal and external productions.
