JVC a NAB 2015

JVC presents its new range of 4KCAM products at NAB. The 3 new models of 4K cameras, the JVC GY-HM170, accommodate multiple workflows and incorporate the latest advances in 4K image capture and high-efficiency compression scheme for easy integration into current workflows.

“The 4KCAM product range is based on many of the same principles that have made our renowned ProHD range a benchmark of market success over the last decade,” said Dave Walton, Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications. “Our 3 new camcorders make 4K UHD production affordable, thanks, among other things, to native file recording and the use of universal and affordable recording media.” They provide exceptional image quality and stimulate creativity at all levels of professional content production.”

JVC 4K GY-LS300The flagship of the 4KCAM range is the GY-LS300, designed for filmmakers, documentary filmmakers and broadcast production departments. It features a 4K Super 35 CMOS manufactured by Altasens, a JVC Group company, and uses a standard MFT optics mount. JVC's exclusive Variable Mapping technology electronically adapts the active zone of the Super 35 sensor in order to achieve a perfect adaptation of the image capture field whether using PL or EF optics, among many others. And consequently, also the use of adapters for other types of optics allows the operator to work with an almost unlimited number of types of optics.

Both the GY-LS300 and GY-HM200 include a streaming generator with Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity that enables live HD streaming over hardware decoders, the Wowza Streaming Engine server, and the ProHD Broadcaster server developed with Zixi. Multiple streaming protocols included, such as RTMP, allow you to generate a stream for direct broadcast on websites and content delivery networks (CDN) such as Ustream, a popular live video platform for companies and organizations.

JVC GY-HM200JVC's most affordable streaming camera is the GY-HM200. A device designed for corporate video, as well as ENG applications. It has a 1/2.3" BSI CMOS chip, an integrated 12x zoom lens (24x dynamic zoom in HD mode) with optical image stabilizer. It allows working with 4K HD Ultra, 4: 2: 2 Full HD (50Mbps) and SD resolutions. The GY-HM200 and GY-LS300 also include dual XLR audio inputs and switchable MIC/LINE with phantom power and video outputs SDI and HDMI.

JVC GY-HM170Compact but powerful, the GY-HM170 is a robust camcorder with a completely professional layout of controls and comprehensive settings for different professional user profiles. Continuing with JVC's commitment to providing its cameras with the necessary features to support native workflows, the GY-HM170 records images in a wide variety of resolutions and frame rates. Other notable features of this camera are the integrated 12x zoom lens with two ND filters, stereo microphone and 3.5 mm audio input, and 4K UHD live output, via an HDMI connector.

The 4KCAM range of cameras has 2 SDHC / SDXC card slots that allow continuous recording work or simultaneous backup copies. The cameras have a 3.5-inch LCD screen and a 1.56 Megapixel color viewfinder, both with a focus assist and 2-channel audio recording capability.
