RED simplifies its portfolio with a DSMC2 camera with three sensor options

RED's camera range is simplified with a DSMC2 body with three sensor options: Monstro 8K VV, Helium 8K S35 and Gemini 5K S35

RED Digital Cinema has chosen to simplify your portfolio of cameras including a camera DSMC2 with three sensor options: Monstro 8K VV, Helium 8K S35 y Gemini 5K S35.

The single brain at the heart of the system will have similar specifications to Weapon. will be able to up to 60 frames per second at 8K, will support 300 MByte per second data transfer, and simultaneous REDCODE RAW and Apple ProRes recording or Avid DNxHD/HR recording.

The DSMC2 kit features high-end frame and data rates regardless of the sensor chosen, and in addition to this new value, the simplified approach will result in a price reduction compared to RED's previous range of cameras. This is a modular system that allows a videographer to configure a fully operational camera to suit their individual needs.

RED offers a range of accessories that includes visualization and control, input/output modules, mounting equipment and methods for powering the camera.

  • DSMC2 with Monstro 8K VV sensor delivers full-frame lens kinematic coverage, produces ultra-detailed 35.4-megapixel panoramic images, and offers over 17 stops of dynamic range
  • DSMC2 with Helium 8K S35 sensor is the recipient of the highest DxO score ever, delivering 16.5+ stops of dynamic range on a Super 35 frame
  • DSMC2 with Gemini 5K S35 sensor leverages dual sensitivity modes to provide creators with greater flexibility using standard mode for suitable lighting conditions or low light mode for darker environments
