Red Bull X-Fighters Madrid 2015

Red Bull X-Fighters Madrid 2015After passing through the Monumental in Mexico City and an original marble quarry in Athens, the Red Bull X-Fighters Freestyle Motocross World Tour arrived in Madrid last Friday.

More than 23,000 fans vibrated with this show in a Las Ventas Bullring transformed for the occasion into an innovative circuit in which the riders impressed with their tricks and acrobatics. On this occasion, French rider Thomas Pagès beat one of the best freestyle motocross riders on the international scene.

Red Bull X-Fighters Madrid 2015Since its inception, this competition has had the world's greatest specialists in Freestyle Motocross and, therefore, the technical level of the competition has always been very high. The magic of this sport is that all the riders look for the most difficult one in each jump, combining several tricks in the same flight until they achieve impossible images. And, in Las Ventas, over the course of 14 editions, some of the best in history have been seen.
To transform Las Ventas, 2,300 m3 of land (about 120 trucks) were needed, thus building the mounds on which the spectacular falls up to 35 meters high could be seen.

Red Bull X-Fighters Madrid 2015A total of 60,000 watts of sound and light (with 170 robotics Martin Mac 2000) turned this competition into a visual spectacle. Since its inception in 2001, Red Bull has had the technology of Riedel to ensure the highest quality in communications and signal distribution. The German company not only provides equipment but also deploys a team of professionals for each test who provide a comprehensive service to the organization so that nothing fails.

Red Bull X-Fighters Madrid 2015An essential aspect is that of intercommunication. The Riedel Artist digital intercom allows all production, security, health and technical personnel to be in permanent contact. On this occasion, a total of 80 Motorola DP4400 radio units were used in Las Ventas, although there are events such as the event in Pretoria in which up to 150 units are deployed.

Artist is a powerful matrix platform for intercom, analog and digital audio distribution, and TCP/IP data signals. The system consists of a fiber bus-type network that provides a decentralized infrastructure for your audio and intercom applications.
This matrix allows, in cases such as the Red Bull X-Fighters production in a large venue such as Las Ventas, to work with distances of up to 500 meters between two nodes.

Fans who could not follow the competition from Las Ventas could do so from the Red Bull X-Fighters website, Red Bull TV or on the giant screens at Callao City Lights in the heart of Madrid. Broadcasters from around twenty countries also broadcast the event.

The mobile unit of the German TVN was responsible for the production of these signals as well as the images that were shown on the giant LED screens installed in the venue.

Red Bull X-Fighters Madrid 2015A fiber network deployed in the venue by Riedel staff allowed, under Riedel's Mediornet platform, to carry a video signal to the LED screens in Las Ventas as well as receive the video from a wirecam that “flew over” the arena and from a steadycam on a seaway that collected impressive images over the arena.

MediorNet allows combining transport, routing and signal processing and conversion within a comprehensive transport network in real time. Not only is it designed for simple point-to-point links, but it offers a complete transport solution. This includes signal routing, any input signal can be sent to any output, and even to multiple outputs controlled from a PC or, even better, from a matrix control system.

Red Bull X-Fighters Madrid 2015TVN in its mobile unit had a mixer Sony (working with a total of 38 signals) and with a Lawo Mc66 console, collecting all the tracks coming from the microphones located in the square at different heights for subsequent post-production in Dolby Atmos.

Finally, note that to repeat the best moments with slow motion, TVN uses the platform of EVS with their popular remotes and XT3 servers.
