The Firstv1sion system made it possible to follow the Spanish Athletics Championships from "the eyes of the athlete"

It is the first time in the world that this type of technology is applied in a high-level athletics competition.

Startup technology FirstV1sion, creator of a system for capturing and retransmitting images through the athlete's equipment, allowed the television channel Teledeporte (TDP) to broadcast, for the first time in Spain, images "from the eyes of the athlete" during the Spanish Athletics Championships that were held in Castellón on August 1 and 2.

The system created by FistsV1sion, which is part of the Wayra project in Barcelona (Telefónica's Open Future accelerator), has made it possible for the first time in the world to be transferred to high-level athletics, the technology that is already applied in other disciplines, such as Formula 1 or MotoGP, so that the spectator can appreciate what they see and feel an athlete competing at the highest level.

The system, installed on the athletes' jersey, consists of the combination of a high-definition camera with a professional RF transmission system, thus offering viewers professional quality images from a completely new angle. In this way, repetitions and sporting moments can be experienced with greater intensity and will be even more exciting and immersive. Firstv1sion includes additional features such as sound and biometric sensors.

After intense testing, the Spanish Athletics Federation has approved the use of FirstV1sion technology in high competition in all disciplines, with the Spanish Championships being the first time in the history of world athletics in which spectators can enjoy such a revolutionary point of view.

Since last year, Telefónica has been the first strategic investor in First V1sion. Two professional athletes such as Andrés Iniesta (FCBarcelona) and Serge Ibaka (Oklahoma City Thunder) have also shown their support for the company by becoming partners and investors. First V1sion has already achieved its first successes with various live broadcasts of Euroleague Basketball, including the Final Four, and other games such as Real Madrid vs Barcelona.
