Gearhouse Broadcast acquires SAM Alchemist converters for the Rio Games and UEFA Euro 2016

The Alchemist allows you to easily convert images in SD, HD and 1080p resolutions using the PH.C motion estimation technology developed by SAM.

Audiovisual rental and services company Gearhouse Broadcast has purchased fourteen HD SDI converters from Snell Advanced Media's Alchemist range (SAM). These teams will be used to cover the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and UEFA Euro 2016.

Gearhouse, with headquarters in the United Kingdom and delegations in France, Australia, the United States and Qatar, will thus provide service to the broadcasters who will cover these two top-level sporting events in HD. Prior to this purchase, Gearhouse already had nine converters.

Neil Maycock, vice president of marketing at SAM, acknowledges that “broadcasters around the world thinking about using the Alchemist solution for these coverages is confirmation of its performance and the image quality that this product offers.”

We have already had a significant number of broadcasters wanting to rent this equipment and we expect interest to increase as the time for these sporting events approaches."
