German broadcaster MDR migrates to IP with Lawo and Ravenna
At the heart of one of its main studios dedicated to the production of fiction programs, MDR has installed a Lawo mc²66 console table.
German public broadcaster Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) has renovated its main studio in Halle (Germany) incorporating a mc²66 table from Theirs which has come to replace the mc²82 after thirteen years of working at full capacity.
In addition to the mc²66, with 56 faders with 192 DSP channels and integrated server plug-in, MDR has installed a 5kx5k Lawo Nova 73 audio matrix from Lawo, with a Sapphire tart talkback.
Three Dallis units provide flexible and cost-effective mobile stageboxes serving the entire dramatic space production complex. The most significant change, however, is the adaptation of the infrastructure to an IP environment using the Ravenna platform.
The project has been executed by MDR subsidiary DREFA Media Service in cooperation with MDR Operation Management/Planning Media Production.
