In this edition, the MAC opened to new audiences with numerous sessions and an exhibition area in which 34 companies participated.

The Audiovisual Market of Catalonia, MAC 2016, celebrated its seventeenth edition last Wednesday, June 1.

A total of 1,093 participants attended an edition full of novelties, with new audiences, an extensive program with more than 30 presentations, activities and demonstrations and the attendance of 59 leading professionals.

Entre los inscritos en el MAC se encontraban 201 profesionales del sector de la comunicación; 126 de industrias creativas; 113 representantes de empresas tecnológicas y 147 estudiantes.

El MAC se abrió en esta edición a nuevos públicos con sesiones como la mesa redonda de influencers, la sesión del youtuber Ismael Prego y los fundadores de YouPlanet y el espectáculo incluido en el ciclo Open MAC Hay un Wismichu en mí.

En la zona de exhibición tecnológica presentaron sus soluciones 34 empresas representadas, triplicando así la presencia del año pasado.

MAC 2016With more than 600 square meters, MAC 2016 premiered the Tecno MAC space, energized by Xnergic from Tecnocampus Mataró, a project created in a university environment that aims to awaken technological vocations among young people between 13 and 18 years old. A total of 120 people passed through the Tecno MAC space, experimenting with projects carried out by students linked to robotics and audiovisuals, as well as attending demonstrations with 3D printers and scanners. The fair included the Speech Corner space, dedicated to presentations by participating companies. In this sense, 140 people attended the sessions of VSN, Lavinia, Dfly Vision, A Vista de Drone, Disefoto, Enacast, Nov25Studio, Tecnocampus Mataró, and the University of Vic i l'EMAD de la Garriga.

MAC 2016Throughout the day, presentations stood out such as that of Elena Neira, collaborating professor of New Audiovisual Distribution Models, on IP Television; the session by members of La Xarxa on the new content exchange platform and the session on the Catalan Audiovisual Communication Law in the new technological and cultural context by Rosa Franquet, professor at the UAB; Roger Loppacher, president of the CAC; Joan Manuel Tresserras, professor at the UAB and Jordi del Río, general director of Mitjans de Comunicació of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
