Planar at Infocomm 2016

The manufacturer of display and digital signage systems Planar Systems, A company of Leyard, has once again surprised professionals with two new models for its award-winning Clarity Matrix video wall series in InfoComm 2016 (stand C7736).

The first of them, Clarity Matrix MX55HDX LCD, introduces as an innovation the smallest bezel ever in the sector in screen separation - 1.6 mm -, which offers the customer a new level in viewing experience with screen wall installations in wall without jumps or seams.

For its part, Clarity Matrix LX46HDU-3D is an LCD video wall solution for customers looking for a large screen with a stereoscopic format for professional 3D viewing applications. Both systems will be available on the market through the distribution network during the summer of this year.

Maximum performance, reliability and value

Thanks to this thin 1.6 mm bezel, the video wall configuration with the 55” LCD screens of the Clarity Matrix MX55HDX transforms what was previously a collection of wall displays into a near-perfect high-resolution visual design with a cohesive and continuous high-impact visualization.

For Jennifer Davis, director of marketing at Leyard and vice president of marketing and product strategy for Planar, “our award-winning line of Clarity Matrix LCD displays has never been stronger. With this minuscule bezel width between displays, to deliver unprecedented image viewing, Clarity Matrix continues to demonstrate its leadership as the industry's best-in-class LCD video display solutions.”

To ensure the highest performance, reliability and value of the Clarity Matrix MX55HDX, Planar has integrated the following features into the system to achieve this:

  • System improvements Planar EasyAxis Mounting Systems, a unique mounting system, which facilitates no gap between individual LCD screens.
  • Maximum image sharpness and clarity through 800 nits of brightness and an off-board architecture that prevents hot spots on the screen.
  • 10% reduction in energy consumption compared to previous 55-inch Clarity Matrix models.
  • Installation depth of 92 millimeters (3.6 inches), to meet the ADA (Americans with Disabilities) requirement for protruding objects.
  • Video extension capabilities of up to 150 meters offer maximum installation flexibility, while eliminating the cost and reliability issues of third-party cable extenders.
  • Front-facing service, enabled by a unique design that transfers the electronics and power modules, typically located to the back of the display, with easy access to components.
  • Ability to power up to five Clarity Matrix displays with a single power supply module.
  • Specialized shipping packaging that exceeds International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) specifications, ensuring each screen arrives intact.
  • Planar ERO (optional), video protection system to further ensure possible screen breakage both in transit as well as while in use in public spaces.
