Michael Hallen, new CEO of Vizrt
Hallen will replace Martin Burkhalter who stepped down as CEO last April after six years at the helm of Vizrt.
On August 1, Michael Hallen will take over the reins of Vizrt. The new CEO will join the company's headquarters in Bergen (Norway) from the Swedish group Qmatic.
Hallen will replace Martin Burkhalter who stepped down as CEO last April after six years at the helm of Vizrt. During this interim period until Hallen takes office, it is François Laborie who is assuming the position.
Torben Munch, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vizrt, said: "I am very pleased to welcome Michael as our new CEO. I know he is very passionate about what he does and brings 25 years of software experience. With Michael and the team we already have in the company we will continue our path of innovation and leadership in video creation and video distribution on all platforms. I also hope that with him we will expand our customer base to include all the media companies that create and distribute material digital in video format.
Hallen, for his part, admits that he is eager to "be able to join the Vizrt team and take advantage of the business opportunities that arise in this changing industry. It is a great personal opportunity as it includes two of my main interests: technology and international news."
