The film marks the debut as a feature film director of screenwriter Sergio G. Sánchez, awarded for The Orphanage and nominated for Impossible y Fin the Goya for Best Screenplay, and the CEC for the adaptation of the blockbuster Palm trees in the snow.

The cast is made up of a group of young British and American actors led by Anya Taylor-joy (The Witch), George Mackay (Captain Fantastic, For Those in Peril), Mia Goth (A Cure for Wellness, Nymphomaniac. Marrowbone, cuyo rodaje tendrá lugar a lo largo de 10 semanas en distintas localizaciones de Asturias y en los platós de Terrassa (Barcelona), se centra en la historia de cuatro hermanos, que temiendo que les separen tras la muerte de su madre, se esconden del mundo en su abandonada granja… una granja cuyas viejas paredes esconden un terrible secreto.

La película está producida por Telecinco Cinema, Marrowbone y Ruidos en el Ático con la participación de Mediaset España y Movistar+, distribuida en España por Universal Pictures International Spain.

Internacionalmente, Lionsgate ha logrado hasta el momento acuerdos de ventas internacionales de la nueva películas en más de 30 territorios, incluyendo Francia, Reino Unido, América Latina, Australia e Italia, tras su paso por la última edición del mercado de Cannes.
