The awards ceremony for the Hispasat 4K International Short Film Festival will take place on September 20 within the framework of the San Sebastian festival.

Festival Hispasat 4KUltra High Definition technology arrives at the 64th edition of the San Sebastián Festival with Hispasat. El Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes Hispasat 4K, uno de los primeros eventos en el mundo dedicado a cortometrajes producidos y postproducidos íntegramente en 4K, celebrará su ceremonia de entrega de premios el martes, 20 de septiembre a las siete y media de la tarde en el Centro Internacional de Cultura Contemporánea Tabakalera. En el transcurso de la misma, el público tendrá la posibilidad de ver las obras premiadas proyectadas en 4K. La entrada al acto será gratuita hasta completar el aforo.

También el día 20, a las once de la mañana en la sala 9 del Kursaal, se desarrollará el workshop Cine y tecnología. Los retos de rodar en 4K, in which representatives of technology companies will debate with those from the world of cinema about the opportunities and challenges offered by this new Ultra High Definition standard for film production.

Hispasat launched this international short film festival last year with the aim of promoting the creation and exhibition of audiovisual content produced in 4K, the last great technological revolution in the sector. A format that, by multiplying by four the number of pixels of a conventional high-definition screen, allows viewers to enjoy an unprecedented cinematographic experience with image quality never seen before.

This second edition of the contest, which is held within the framework of the San Sebastián Festival, also has important new features. Two new awards have been introduced: the Best Director category, which will give the winner the opportunity to direct a feature film produced by Cine365 Film throughout 2017, and the Jury Prize.
