The launch of Hispasat 30W-6 into orbit at 30º West is scheduled for next February once all the tests have been passed.

Hispasat 30W-6

The satellite Hispasat 30W-6 (H30W-6) is already in the SpaceX launch base in Cape Canaveral (Florida). The new satellite of the fleet Hispasat It has been transferred from the Space System Loral (SSL) facilities in Palo Alto (California), where it was manufactured, to the space base aboard a truck, in a container specially adapted for the transport of heavy components and whose characteristics guarantee the safety of the satellite.

The satellite has been brought to Cape Canaveral after successfully pass all tests, functional and environmental, which are carried out during the construction process.

At the launch base, the last tests will be carried out to verify the proper functioning of the satellite after the transfer and it will be integrated into the Falcon 9 launch vehicle for its subsequent launch, scheduled for next February.

The Hispasat 30W-6, which has an estimated useful life of 15 years and has been built on SSL's 1300 satellite platform, will serve as a replacement for the Hispasat 30W-4. It will be located at 30º West, from where it will provide television services, broadband, corporate networks and other telecommunications solutions.
The new satellite will provide additional Ku band capacity for the American continent.

Likewise, with the Hispasat 30W-6 the company's transatlantic capabilities will be expanded in its Europe-America and America-Europe connectivities and, for the first time, capacity will be added in C band in America from the 30º West position. Furthermore, it will expand Ka band capacity in Europe and North Africa so that Hispasat continues to increase its broadband services in the region.
