Hispasat provides space capacity and equipment to the El Escorial Summer Courses

The operator collaborates for another year with the Summer Courses organized by the General Foundation of the Complutense University of Madrid (FGUCM) by offering its space capacity from its H30W-6 satellite.

Hispasat collaborates one more year with the Summer Courses organized by the General Foundation of the Complutense University of Madrid (FGUCM) in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, which begin today and will last until the 31st, with a reduced calendar this year due to the situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The satellite operator cooperates with the FGUCM providing space capacity and equipment for the transmission of television signals through a satellite link. Thus, the information services and television programs that wish to do so will be able to send current images and news about the courses, made by the Complutense University production company (UCMTV).

The satellite operator makes the link through the space capacity of its H30W-6 satellite, located in the orbital position 30º West, and makes the necessary equipment for the transmission of television signals available to the university.

Hispasat's participation in the UCM Summer Courses ratifies, once again, its commitment to society and its support for the dissemination of knowledge and education subscribed to in its Sustainability Policy. The satellite becomes more relevant in a crisis context like the current one, in which telecommunications have become an essential element to facilitate access to the Information Society and contribute to reducing the digital divide.

The Summer Courses of the Complutense University have been, since 1988, an international reference as a forum for intellectual exchange. They aim to be a transversal meeting that responds to the challenges that society has at all times. In them, scientists, politicians, economists, writers, journalists and artists debate and reflect on current issues.
