The launch of the tenth satellite of the Hispasat group is scheduled for next February.

Arrival of Amazonas 3 to Kourou

The Amazonas 3 satellite of the group Hispasat has been successfully transferred, in an Antonov aircraft, to the launch base of the European Space Agency located in Kourou, French Guiana.

Its transfer was made after having passed all tests and completed its manufacturing process at the Space Systems/Loral facilities in Palo Alto, California. Now, in Kourou, the last tests will be carried out for its subsequent launch, scheduled for early February.

The Amazonas 3 satellite, the tenth that the operator puts into orbit, will be launched by the Arianespace company aboard the Ariane 5 ECA rocket. With a launch mass of 6.2 tons, the satellite measures more than 26 meters in wingspan and 8 meters in height. It has 52 simultaneous transponders, 33 in Ku band and 19 in C band, as well as 9 beams in Ka band. The innovative Ka-band charging makes the Hispasat group the first operator in Latin America to open the doors to the world of interactive services and multimedia applications via satellite.

Operated by Hispamar Satélites, a Brazilian company of the Hispasat group, the Amazonas 3 satellite will offer, from the 61º West orbital position, broadcasting of TV platforms, deployment of corporate fixed and mobile telephone networks, broadband without geographical limitations and comprehensive communication solutions for telecommunications operators, among others.
