Chromecast Ultra

Google has presented the latest version of Chromecast. Similar in appearance to its predecessor (of which more than 30 million units have been sold worldwide), the new Chromecast Ultra allows the playback of video content in 4K.

Simply connect the device to the HDMI port of a television or display and use a smartphone or tablet (Android or iOS) to send content in Ultra High Definition.

Chromecast UltraChromecast Ultra supports HDR content (improving contrast and color depth) and Dolby Vision sound. Google has improved WiFi connectivity, being 1.8 times faster in content playback than the previous version and has support for Ethernet and an HDMI connector.

Coinciding with the launch of this device, Google has announced that its Play Movies platform will begin distributing 4K content starting in November.
