A team of 25 professionals from Mediatem, a subsidiary of Mediapro, will collaborate with the audiovisual services of the Congress in the capture, production, recording, cataloguing, distribution and processing of the television signal of the Plenary Sessions and Committees.
The Contracting Board of the Congress of Deputies has awarded Mediatem, a company belonging to the Mediapro group, the exploitation of the technical services of the television of the Lower House. The contract will come into force as of December 1 with a duration of two years that can be extended.
A team of 25 professionals will collaborate with the audiovisual services of the Congress in the capture, production, recording, cataloguing, distribution and processing of the television signal of the Plenary Sessions and Committees, in addition to the recording of any public events that take place at the parliamentary headquarters.
The service also includes the programming, planning and broadcast of the Parliament Channel, along with the development of programs and scripts to broadcast on any platform, including social networks.
Mediapro's proposal contemplates the renewal of the corporate image of the Parliament Channel, with the creation of a new graphic line, and the development of more of its own content, with the aim of reinforcing the usefulness of the channel for the citizen. Among the proposed contents are news spaces, current reports, summaries, interviews and discussions, along with tutorials and other participation spaces. Canal Parliament broadcasts its signal through satellite, cable and the Internet.
Mediapro was the contractor for the service between 2005 and 2009, when it obtained its first award for this service. Then he promoted the Parliament Channel, providing it with self-produced programming with educational and dissemination content.
Among the proposed technical improvements is the launch of two new editing positions, to which must be added the incorporation of seven professionals to the current team.
