The Film Academy announces the 155 films that will compete for the Goya Awards

Of the 155 stories, whose nominations will be announced on December 14, 90 are fiction, 62 are documentaries and 10 are animated productions.

A total of 155 films released in Spain between January 1 and December 31, 2016 are eligible for the 31st edition of the Goya Awards. Of these 155 productions (12 more than in the previous call), 90 are fiction, 62 are documentaries and 3 are animation. Also participating this year are 58 European films and 33 short films (15 fiction, 8 documentaries and 10 animation).

Of the 155 stories nominated for the 31st edition of the Goya Awards, whose nominees will be announced on December 14 at the Academy headquarters, 50 are debut works. As for the scripts, 129 are original and 18 are adapted.

In addition, 68 films have been submitted for the Goya for Best Original Music and 42 original songs compete for the award in this section.

Structured in 28 categories, to which we must add the Goya of Honor, which this year will be collected by Ana Belén, the Goya will be awarded on February 4 at the Madrid Marriott Auditorium Hotel, under the direction of Juan Luis Iborra and executive production by Emiliano Otegui. The performer and monologist Dani Rovira will lead the ceremony, thus becoming the first Goya master of ceremonies to repeat for the third consecutive time.
