Film directors such as Fernando Trueba or Mario Pagano, the director of photography José Luis Alcaine or the production team of 'The Queen of Spain' will share their experiences with the future protagonists of the sector.

Coinciding with the Madrid Premiere Week festival, the TAI University Arts Center has organized a series of activities that combine training and the audiovisual industry and in which film directors such as Fernando Trueba or Mario Pagano, the director of photography José Luis Alcaine, the actor Iván Sánchez or the production team of The Queen of Spain.

This event, which was born with the aim of recovering the splendor of Madrid's Gran Vía as the street of premieres, not only in this city but throughout Spain, celebrates its sixth edition in 2016. On this occasion, the screenings, scheduled between November 21 and 24, will be held mainly at the Callao cinema, along with the exclusive screening and meeting with the director of the film The Queen of Spain, Fernando Trueba, on Tuesday the 29th, which will be at Yelmo Cines Ideal.

The program features the presentation of films such as The diners, with actors like Silvia Abascal, Juan Diego Botto or Perís-Menchetta; Those in the tunnel, with Arturo Valls at the head of the cast; Allies, starring Brad Pitt; Backseat Fighter, Spanish film with Iván Sánchez; Hacksaw Ridge, Mel Gibson's last work as a director; Lady Macbeth, with the directorial debut of William Oldroyd; and The Queen of Spain, with the special screening on Tuesday, November 29, at 8 p.m.

Mornings Madrid Premiere Week

TAI will organize a series of essential events for film buffs, professionals, fans, students and the general public who, in addition to the premiere of the productions, will have the opportunity, once again this year, to enjoy the morning master classes that during the week of the festival the TAI University Arts Center will organize at its headquarters, located at 22 Recoletos Street. The planned program of meetings and master classes (from the 21st to the 24th, at 12 noon), which includes a special day with the Atresmedia Foundation, is the following:

  • Monday, 21. Master Class with Fernando Trueba and José Luis Alcaine de Lto Queen of Spain
  • Tuesday, 22. Master Class in Direction, Production and Acting with the team of Backseat Fighter
  • Wednesday, 23. Master Class in Direction and Acting with the team The Diners
  • Thursday, 24. Awareness day The normalization of disability in audiovisual media with the Antena 3 Proyecto Pro Foundation. The conference will feature the intervention of the screenwriter and director David Marqués, who will provide the vision of the group of professionals who write stories and incorporate characters with disabilities in their scripts.

Meeting with Fernando Trueba

As the culmination of the festival, on Tuesday, the 29th, at Yelmo Cines Ideal, the exclusive screening of The Queen of Spain, accompanied by a highly anticipated meeting with the film's director, Fernando Trueba, and his production team.

With participation in Madrid Premiere Week, TAI underlines its commitment to film professionals and once again establishes itself as a meeting place between the sector and future actors, directors, screenwriters and, ultimately, audiovisual creatives. The master classes and the meeting on the 29th are open to the public and only require prior registration. All sessions will be broadcast via streaming through TAI's Facebook profile.
