Antena 3 snatches the audience leadership from Telecinco
After 27 months in the lead, Telecinco reached 12.8% in December, two tenths below Antena 3.
Antena 3, with a screen share of 13.3%, managed to take over the leadership in December, displacing Telecinco (12.8%), which had remained unbeatable for the last 27 months. The Mediaset España channel drops 1.6 points, which is its lowest result since August 2013.
TVE's La1 registered 12.8% (up four tenths and achieving its best monthly figure since April 2014) while the regional broadcasters averaged 7.6%. In the ranking we find below the paid themes (7.2%), LaSexta (6.4%), Cuatro (6.1%), FDF (3.5%), La2 (2.6%) and Neox (2.5%).
As highlighted Windward Communication Based on data from Kantar Media, the three large networks (La1, Telecinco and Antena 3) registered a 37.0% share in December (1.2 points less than last month).
The leadership by business groups goes to Mediaset España with 28.6% (-1.2 points compared to the previous month), while Atresmedia obtained 27.0% (-1 points) and TVE adds 16.8% (+0.6 points). Grupo Vocento gets 3.2% (+0.4 points) and Unidad Editorial 2.6% (+0.3 points).
Average consumption this month is 241 minutes per day (linear + deferred), 5 minutes less than the previous month and 4 minutes less than the same month last year. 74.4% of Spaniards have contacted television on a daily basis (11,416,000 individuals do not watch television on average daily).
In the accumulated monthly period, 98.2% of the population aged 4 and over has watched television for at least one minute in the last month. Of the 44.5 million potential viewers as a consumer universe, 784,000 people have not tuned in for a single minute of television in the last month.
The most watched broadcast of the month corresponded to the retransmission of the New Year's Eve Chimes on La1 with 4,659,000 average audience viewers and a 35.8% screen share.
