The founder of Adiviña Produciones has been unanimously elected new president of CLAG during the Extraordinary General Assembly held in Santiago de Compostela.

The producer and founding partner of Adiviña Produciones, Jorge Algora, has unanimously elected the new president of the Galician Audiovisual Cluster (CLAG) during the Extraordinary General Assembly held this Tuesday, in Santiago de Compostela. In the same act, the Assembly also ratified the members that make up the new Board of Directors and who will accompany it during the next three years of office.

Director Jorge Algora is at the head of this intermediate organization and takes over from producer Andrés Barbé, who led the entity since December 2010. During two terms, the outgoing president of Clag and his team carried out work that Algora himself valued as “very positive” both for the cluster and for the interests of its associates. In recent years, strategic actions were consolidated in the field of internationalization, innovation and revitalization of the Galician audiovisual sector and the brand of the Galician Audiovisual Cluster was strengthened.

For her part, Barbé thanked the rest of the cluster partners for the support provided during her time as president, at the same time that she offered her help and collaboration to the new management team.

In his first intervention as president of CLAG, Jorge Algora thanked the rest of the associates for the trust placed in him to continue with the associative project, and advanced the main lines of action of the Clag for this new stage, in which he plans to maintain the star projects of the Clag, such as pitching. R&P, Ideas to produce, or execute the pending lines of the strategic plan, which will be in force until 2018, especially promoting cooperation work between companies.

Among the new proposals is to advance in dialogue with associations and other agents in the sector to find collaboration channels and specific actions that contribute to structuring the sector as an industry 4.0.

The new directive wants to promote driving projects both in the field of production, innovation, or R&D, that achieve the specialization of companies, acting as an accelerator of projects that pursue the interest of a minimum of three companies.

In addition, it proposes creating a network of companies from other sectors that are “friendly to Galician audiovisuals” and that can support promotional or financing actions for projects as well as join strategies with companies that can provide services to productions from outside the community and that in the future can be the basis of a Galician film commission.

Also among the objectives of the new CLAG management team are supporting existing actions, and promoting campaigns on the importance of having its own audiovisual sector; Work with universities and audiovisual training schools to design a plan that integrates new professionals, and increase the representation base of the cluster, putting itself at the service of everyone and serving as a unifying tool.

During the Extraordinary Assembly, the modification of the Statutes of the Galician Audiovisual Cluster was also approved and the outgoing president presented to the attendees a report on the activity of the cluster in the last period.

New Board of Directors

The new Board of Directors of CLAG is composed of President: Jorge Algora (Adiviña Produciones); three Vice Presidents: Alfredo Alemparte (Setemedia Producciones Audiovisuales), Miguel Conde (Congo Producciones) and Juan de Dios Serrano (Agallas Films), who also holds the position of Treasurer, and a Secretary and Manager of the Clag, Mar Varela.

Four members complete the new Board of Directors: Ramón Basanta (CESGA), Aquilino Abeal (Aeromedia), Manuel Sanmartín (Areca Films) and Margarita Soilán (Fundación TIC Lugo).
