Galician Audiovisual Cluster - Board of Directors - Alfonso Blanco Portocabo

The last Extraordinary General Assembly of the Galician Audiovisual Cluster has served to elect the new board of directors of the association, with Alfonso Blanco (Portocabo) as president.

In this new period, which will extend over the next three years, Alfonso Cabo will have the support of Gaspar Broullon (Ollovivo Producións) as vice-president, the treasurer Manolo López Cernadas (TEX45 Productions) and the members Fernanda Tabarés (Audiovisual Voice), Borja Pena (Vaca Films), Luisa Romeo (Frida Films) and Oscar Gonzalez (Galicia Technological Institute). The secretary-manager will continue to be Mar Varela.

The new president, head of the popular Galician production company Portocabo, took the opportunity to thank his predecessor, Jorge Algora, six years of “exceptional work”, in which he has “expanded the mass of cluster partners” turning it into a “plural entity”. In his own words, Blanco assumes the position with “continuing will” and advocates continuing to work so “that the Cluster is as representative as possible of the entire sector and adding new associates.”

Some of the first challenges that Blanco (Portocabo) will address are achieving a Film Commission autonomous level alongside the Galician Government, the obtaining European funds of an industrial nature for the sector, the opening and use of the new filming infrastructure in the ICT City, or progress in the actions of internationalization. He has also pointed out as the entity's strategic lines the areas of training and innovation, in which it is expected to develop driving projects in both fields that are useful and of interest to companies and professionals in the sector.
