Sony CineAlta

Sony has announced its plans for its next-generation CineAlta digital cinema camera system. This latest addition to the CineAlta range is being developed through extensive research and close collaboration with creative professionals including directors, operators, directors of photography and digital imaging technicians.

CineAltaAmong the novelties of this new generation, Sony's commitment to a 36x24 mm full-frame sensor designed for digital cinema cameras stands out. This will not depend on any aspect ratio as it will be compatible with full frame, anamorphic Super35 4K 4-perf 4:3 and spherical 4K 3-perf 17:9.

On the other hand, the established workflow with Sony's RAW/X-OCN and 16-bit XAVC will be maintained. The new generation CineAlta will share the same hardware accessories (DVF-EL200 Full HD OLED viewfinder, AXS-R7 recorder, AXS-CR1 yAR1 card reader, AXS and SxS memory cards).

Sony's commitment to high-end digital cinema has been present since the launch of the first 24p digital camera system (HDW-F900), the RGB recording system (HDC-F950 and SRW-1) and the camera with a Super 35mm image sensor (F35).
