It also presents at IBC a new digital audio console for broadcast and an IP connection unit for microphones, headphones and signaling.

AEQ and IBC 2017

After his enormous journey of almost 30 years in the world of broadcasting major sporting events, AEQ presents its third generation of commentary units in Amsterdam.

Olympia 3 is a commentary unit, specialized in sending customized sound from a specific event to a television or radio station, including commentary in one's own language.

AEQ Olympia3This solution can operate as a stand-alone unit, simply connected to a control PC, or connected to a native Dante AoIP system, or AES 67, integrated into an intercom system, simultaneously acting as an intercom panel for coordination tasks, or as part of a large commentary system.

Each unit has 3 IP ports at 1 Gbps, one of them with PoE power, the others allow daisy chain connection and auxiliary output for video and data transport. It also works as a stand-alone sound mixer, mono or stereo, with routing, tone and dynamics control.

Supports three commentator microphones (one of them can work as an intercom user terminal) and two line inputs. Prepared to work outdoors in direct sun, it is splash resistant, while it can be set to low brightness for use in dark interiors. Its powerful real-time configuration and control application adapts it to the most varied work environments.

This new unit joins the widest range of AEQ broadcast audio equipment with native Dante IP connectivity on the market: Mixing consoles for on air and production, automatic broadcast workstations, audiocodecs for program transport and interfaces with all types of audio inputs and outputs complete the range. Olympia 3 connects in AoIP with these, natively Dante with more than 1000 devices from hundreds of manufacturers, and in AES 67 with devices from other manufacturers that offer AoIP interfaces with different protocols.

AEQ Split IP ForumAEQ Split IP Forum

On the other hand, at AEQ's stand 8C55 at IBC 2017 you can also see its AEQ Forum IP Split digital audio console presented last year at this same fair. With Forum IP Split, the AEQ Forum IP family of tables consolidates its presence in the market, giving flexibility of options.

The Split version separates the control surface from the “engine or core” and facilitates the installation of control surface modules separately. The interconnection of the modules is carried out with standard CAT5 cables with RJ45 connectors, as well as with the “core or engine”. Furthermore, its fitting is very easy and comfortable. In addition, the Split version supports larger configurations, up to 24 fader channels.

The Set-up and configuration application remains the simplest on the market and the Virtual Forum and Forum Screen Software options are compatible with this new console.

AEQ StudioboxFinally, as the latest development from the AEQ brand, fair attendees will be able to see the new and stylized Studiobox booth for the IP transport of a studio's signaling GPIOs. This reinvention responds to the recent addition to the market of the IP audio interface of the same brand, Netbox 4MH. This unit covers the need for microphone inputs and headphone outputs, for example, radio and TV studios, stages or multimedia installations. Multi-channel IP connectivity (Audinate Dante protocol) makes the four microphone inputs with very high-quality preamps available anywhere on the network, as well as headphone signals being received from any console in the station.

AEQ LM9000

4K monitors and intercom

With the Kroma by AEQ brand, this year the 9000 series of video monitors for broadcast are presented at the IBC, which, using the 10-bit process, anticipates the needs of the near future with 4K (UHD) resolution. Two models will be shown, a 24” of 3840 x 2160, and a 31” of 4096 x 2160 pixels.

At the AEQ stand you can also see the 8000 series monitors, presented last year and already on sale in the following sizes: 9 "18" and 24". With Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution for reference and signal monitoring in TV / Video production centers, they incorporate a new 10-bit processor that improves image scaling, interlacing and color depth, and the linearity of the monitor. The increase in the number of colors that can be represented by going from 8 to 10 bits for each of the red, green and blue channels is significant. As an option, by incorporating an accessory, you can monitor video signals over IP.

For its part, in the range of intercom systems, the Xplorer wireless system is another step in the range of Kroma by AEQ intercoms. You can install as many Xbp packs, small in size, and equipped with a touch screen, as needed. You can also use Xplorer virtual flasks, applications on devices with Windows or iOS operating systems. The system allows you to create work areas, overlap them, manage clean transitions between areas, with excellent audio quality. The Xplorer intercom system can work autonomously, and is also available for Conexia, CrossNet and TH5000 intercom matrices.
