Yamaha at IBC 2017

One of the star solutions of Yamaha At this IBC 2017 it is its “flagship” Rivage PM10 on demonstration with both the new CSR-10 and CSR-10-S control surfaces. The latter offers the same functionalities as the CS-R10, but is approximately 30% smaller for use in environments with limited space.

The system also includes the latest V1.5 firmware, including Dan Dugan Sound Design automated mixing, which provides automatic gain adjustment of up to 64 voice microphones in real time.

In addition to suppressing feedback and comb filter effects, it frees the operator from the need to keep track of numerous faders in challenging, unscripted situations. It offers five groups, so processing can be divided into five independent automixers.

At the other end of the scale, TF-Rack is a high-quality digital mixing solution for mobile units or venues where space is at a premium. With a 3U capacity in a standard 19-inch rack, the mixer features 16 input mix channels, 20 aux buses, eight DCA groups with Roll-Out, extensive I/O connections, and exceptional ease of setup. This console can be configured and operated in wireless applications, allowing it to be used in even the smallest of spaces.

Exclusively for digital mixers in this price range, all TF Series consoles also feature Dan Dugan Sound Design automixing, applicable on up to eight channels. An optional NY64-D interface card and Tio1608-D I/O can be used for integration into a Dante network.

Yamaha is also showing its CL, QL and TF digital mixing consoles, R-series Dante I/O units, the Dante-MADI RMio64-D I/O unit, the Dio-Mini YGDAI RSio64-D interface and the new SWP1 network switches.

Monitoring for DAW

Yamaha has debuted its monitoring solution designed for DAW-based environments at IBC 2017. MMP1 incorporates a 40x36 channel matrix (occupies 2 RU) and allows monitoring audio sources in stereo and multichannel formats, including Dolby Atmos. Signals can be sent to up to 8 stereo paths and a talkback section facilitates communications between artists and producers.

The monitoring matrix is followed by a 32x32 speaker management matrix equipped with crossover filters for bass management on all channels allowing greater freedom for speaker layouts.

To preserve the flat phase characteristics between channels, the system has FIR filter management for bass in addition to type IIR filters. It also includes delay for time alignment, four EQ schemes and a number of effects modeled with Yamaha's VCM technology.

The system has 8 analog inputs and 16 AES/EBU inputs and outputs, Dante networking capability and a 16-pin GPI interface to connect to different devices.
