Sony will offer full frame image recording (24x36 mm) on the new Venice camera
Based on feedback from filmmakers and production professionals, Sony announces support for full-frame image recording in its latest release of CineAlta.
Following the launch of the next-generation Venice CineAlta film camera, and after extensive conversations with filmmakers following its launch, Sony responds to strong demand to include full frame footage recording from day one and in time for the arrival of Venice in February 2018.
With this feature, filmmakers can harness the full potential of Venice by recording 24 x 36mm full-frame 6K in Sony's 16-bit capture format: X-OCN. In addition to full-frame image recording, Sony has an extensive roadmap planned for implementing features in future firmware updates.
