Ride premieres ‘Lorquiana’, a new sound fiction that tributes Lorca
With script by Alfonso Latorre, original texts by Federico García Lorca, realization of Mayca Aguilera and Benigno Moreno's address will be broadcast from the house on (Madrid) through Radio 3 and streaming.
The RNE sound fiction pays tribute to Federico García Lorca and Margarita Xirgu with Lorquiana. Víctor Clavijo and Cayetana Guillén Cuervo star in this new sound fiction that will be released on November 29, at 9 p.m., in The house on of the Montemadrid Foundation. The work can also be followed live on Radio 3 and in streaming on the RTVE website.
In autumn of 1926, the lives of Federico García Lorca and Margarita Xirgu would be intertwined for history. That year, the immortal Granada poet delivers the manuscript of ‘Mariana Pineda’, his second play, to the Catalan actress, one of the most important of his generation. At that time, García Lorca has serious doubts about his career as a dramatic poet and, in the face of family pressure, doubting whether to continue his efforts or follow the example of his brother Francisco, overturned in academic life.
Fortunately, Margarita Xirgu would agree to take the drama that García Lorca gives him, starting a fruitful personal and professional relationship thanks to which he premiered most of the poet's theatrical production. Despite their ups and downs, Lorca and Xirgu became a solid creative couple, probably the most prominent in Spain in the 20s and 30s.
RNE and the house on paying tribute to this couple of creators with a sound fiction that reflects that relationship that extended over ten years and whose memory fed with devotion the actress after the death of the poet. The work makes known a little more to the poet and his muse, and deepens the creative process of the main Lorchian dramas, showing the essays and premieres of capital works such as Yerma, Blood weddings or Bernarda Alba's house.
Lorquiana It is not just a tribute to Federico García Lorca and Margarita Xirgu, it is also an opportunity to review the work of one of the greatest writers of all time and publicize the work of an immense and brave actress. Throughout their history, listeners will be able to approach a convulsive period of the history of Spain and the fascinating gallery of characters surrounding the couple.
A trip that will take to the spectators of tour of the best theaters in Madrid and Barcelona, to attend essays, readings, premieres ... and, by the hand of Xirgu and García Lorca, they will live rural dramas, rough tragedies, violent farce, surrealist lyric and sour removal.
