'Sirat', shortlisted in five Oscar categories

After achieving two Golden Globe nominations (Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Score), Oliver Laxe's 'Sirat' aims to sneak into the Hollywood Film Academy Awards, the Oscars, having been shortlisted in five categories.

Sirat had its world premiere in the Official Section of the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, in which she was awarded the Jury Prize at the same time, el Premio Cannes Soundtrack to Kangding Ray, and the wink of Palm Dog Grand Jury Prize. Besides, el film ha sido reconocida entre las mejores películas del año por entidades de prestigio como el National Board of Reviews (top 5 de mejores películas internacionales), la revista Sight and Sound del British Film Institute (top 4 de lo mejor del año), la revista especializada The Hollywood Reporter (Top 3 de las 10 mejores del 2026), Indie Wire ( top 8 de las mejores películas y top 6 de los mejores directores) o la mejor película del año para la influyente revista The New Yorker.
