In its two months of broadcast, the six episodes of 'Mambo and all its video clips have already accumulated more than 2.5 million views on the Playz website and on its YouTube channel and on its social networks.

Things, the digital musical series of Playz directed by David Sáinz, has become a great audience success for RTVE's new digital native content space launched in November. In its two months of broadcast, the six chapters of Things and all of his video clips have already accumulated more than 2.5 million views on the Playz website and on his channel. Youtube and on their social networks. With its parody of two 'old men' who want to succeed on YouTube, Things has brought a younger audience to RTVE.es, as happened with If it were you.

This production tells the story of Julio Mambo (Sainz), a fallen child song star who, to revive his career, teams up with his cousin Gustavo (Aarón Gómez), who is successful with his YouTube channel playing covers and performing his own romantic songs.

Things was chosen by the users of RTVE.es as the first digital series that could be seen in its entirety on Playz after the simultaneous premiere of the pilots of Things and those of two other web series, Dorien y Colleagues, on the occasion of the platform's premiere. Dorien will resume its weekly broadcast on Playz during the month of January and 'Colegas' will do the same in February.

Innovative distribution strategy

The episodes of Mambo have premiered every Wednesday on Playz.es at 9:00 p.m. and have subsequently been freely distributed on the Playz YouTube channel, where they have become a true phenomenon.

The first episode of Things, released on October 31, has accumulated more than 325,000 views on YouTube, more than any full episode released on Playz, including all eight episodes of the successful digital transmedia series If it were you, which preceded the launch of the platform. All the complete chapters already have close to a million views.

But also one of the great successes of Things has been in its transmedia strategy, based on the more than twenty video clips that were spread every week on different social networks along with the broadcast of each episode, becoming a viral phenomenon in itself.
