The Decklink capture and playback cards and the Ultimatte digital composer and processor allow wTvision to get the most out of its developments.

wTVision

wTVision is using DeckLink capture and playback cards, among other Blackmagic Design, to offer its international clients maximum performance in productions with graphic design and virtual studios.

Blackmagic hardware is a key resource in sporting events and election coverage, and production and control rooms, as they provide the necessary instruments that allow the automation of playback and live productions that include real-time statistical data and graphics, broadcast control, integration of systems in the press room, ingest and clipping tools, media asset management and social networks.

Mario Sousa, CEO of wTVision, acknowledges that "we rely on the DeckLink product line to focus on creating the best software in the broadcast industry. DeckLink cards are incredibly affordable, come with different features and can all be coded under the same API. This gives us the advantage of being able to create software for any customer need because we know there will be a DeckLink for what we need."

wTVision in Bolivia

One of the most recent uses of wTVision with DeckLink products can be found in Bolivia. Since 2014, in partnership with The Game (owner of the soccer rights in Bolivia), wTVision and Mediapro have grown in Bolivia and are now in charge of broadcasting all the main soccer events taking place in the country: the Bolivian League, the World Cup Qualifiers, the Copa América, the U-20 and U-17 South American Cups and other daily sports shows.

As part of the Bolivian solution, wTVision has also designed, developed and carries out two sports news programs, Deportes Noticias and Sports Flash, which use a state-of-the-art virtual system and multi-camera transmission with augmented reality, which allow presenters to interact with virtual elements on set.

This combination of a virtual set with augmented reality was created using wTVision's new Graphics Render Engine (R3 Space Engine) controlled by its Studio CG graphics and video rendering solution and DeckLink Duo. Blackmagic Design's Ultimatte system also intervenes to achieve a perfect crop between the real and virtual image.

Sousa highlights that "we added the Bolivian soccer league to our portfolio of sports projects in 2014 and began providing real-time graphics playback and data collection during broadcasts. Along with The Game and Mediapro, since then we have grown incredibly fast in Bolivia and have done everything from building and managing three new broadcast production control rooms, a multi-channel main control room and two mobile units, to creating these amazing new augmented reality shows. We have done all this using Blackmagic Design products as the backbone of our software.”
