PGL uses Blackmagic solutions in its eSports productions

eSports specialist PGL uses Ursa Mini Pro G2 4.6K cameras and ATEM Constellation 8K switchers in the production of gaming events globally.

PGL, an e-sports specialist, has invested in four customized wearable devices, created based on cameras Ursa Mini Pro G2 4.6K and mixers ATEM Constellation 8K of Blackmagic Design, in order to support the programming of video game events worldwide.

PGL delivers big screen content, as well as TV and internet broadcasts, for a wide range of international esports tournaments, including the 2021 Singapore Major, the first major in-person Dota 2 Major event since COVID-19 restrictions were implemented.

PGL's 2021 programming will be a mix of online and in-person events as restrictions are lifted. Due to this complexity, the team needed a robust, modular system for live productions that would deliver optimal quality content, with the multiple layers that viewers expect, whether online or in a venue.

Each kit offers SDI and fiber optic connections, and all cameras are controlled from the production gallery using an ATEM Camera Control device.

On the other hand, the ATEM Constellation 8K mixer is an essential component in the creation of PGL's visual identity, something expected by viewers of the franchise's tournaments.
