Live Park makes the most of new XT-VIA servers in Polish league production
EVS servers can be seen in the new Live Park mobile unit, UHD 4K HDR, in the outdoor exhibition area of the RAI Center in Amsterdam during IBC 2018.
Ekstraklasa Live Park, the main official television channel of the Polish football league, will integrate a new technology-based content and replay management workflow EVS. EVS solutions have been launched on Live Park's new HDR-ready UHD-4K mobile unit from Broadcast Solutions, Europe's largest OB van manufacturer.
The unit, which will play a key role in broadcasting the Polish league, has been equipped with four new XT-VIA live production servers. To support the operation of the servers, the OB installation will also have an IPDirector live PAM system, an LSM Connect and an XFile3. EVS workflow elements will be provided by Polish EVS partner Twenty4seven.
Live Park COO Marcin Serafin notes that "the need for higher resolution is growing because viewers want to receive the highest quality programming possible. With this in mind, it is important that the technology inside the truck is as reliable as possible. Having used EVS servers extensively in the past, we knew they would offer the fastest playback workflow, even when running at higher UHD-4K resolution."
Introduced earlier this year, the XT-VIA is the next generation of live production servers. Allows users to operate on multiple screen resolutions, using a 12G SDI or IP connected production environment. Installing the server on Live Park's new mobile unit will mean increasing its capacity to produce live football coverage in high resolution. UHD-4K with higher dynamic range (HDR). Additionally, Live Park can also easily transition to an IP-connected workflow, when necessary.
Flexibility
Szymon Wramba, CTO of Live Park, notes that "the flexibility that XT-VIA provides is one of the most important aspects of the server. It gives us the ability to use baseband now and easily move to IP-connected operations when we need it." “This gives us the opportunity to operate more effectively through better-connected remote workflows.”
The XT-VIA servers installed on the mobile unit that will travel to Amsterdam will be integrated with Connected Agent to EVS to demonstrate a multi-site collaborative workflow enabled by C-Next. Visitors to the EVS booth (8.B90) will be able to browse live content on the servers using EVS's web-based Xplore tool.
Rainer Kampe, CTO of Broadcast Solutions, recognizes that "providing our customers with future-proof production solutions that are flexible, reliable and meet current and future technological demands is part of our DNA. Implementing the latest technology to enable collaborative or IP-connected workflows, deployed in remote or multi-site production environments is the key to meeting this goal and EVS plays an essential role in this strategy."
