Imagine and Chromaline design and integrate the new 4K mobile (SDI-IP) from Global Production
The new unit is capable of supporting up to 30 4K cameras. The heart of the architecture is Imagine's IP3 Platinum array.
Imagine Communications has collaborated with the Italian systems integrator Chromaline in the design and implementation of a state-of-the-art mobile unit for the audiovisual services company Global Production. The new unit is capable of supporting up to 30 4K cameras.
Nicola Dall'Asta, CEO of Chromaline, highlights that "the challenge lies in the maximum size and weight of the vehicle that can be carried on the roads. It simply would not have been conceivable to fit everything into the truck using conventional technologies and architectures. The only solution was to do everything ourselves, relying on software solutions as much as possible to maximize space and ensure the best operating environment for the crews."
The new mobile unit a hybrid production vehicle that uses SDI and I connectivityQ. The heart of architecture is IP3 Platinum matrix from Imagine Communications, which integrates mixed-format audio and video routing, multi-display functionality, mux/demux, frame synchronization, and advanced I/O options such as MADI and fiber, all within a single, space-saving frame ideal for the Global Productions application.
Also critical to the success of Chromaline's ergonomic design was the network processor. Selenium from Imagine Communications, a next-generation FPGA-based solution that serves as both an SDI-to-IP gateway and a fully IP-compliant signal processing platform in 1RU of rack space.
Space saving
