CBS prepares the North American adaptation of 'I'm alive'
The American network is already working on the script for the pilot of the series, whose adaptation would be called 'Far Rockaway'.
I'm alive, the police series of La 1 de Spanish Television with supernatural overtones, is on the way to having its North American version. After the agreement reached with CBS to adapt this fiction created by Daniel Ecija, the North American network is already working on a first script as the basis for the pilot episode.
The wise mix of genres of this RTVE production in collaboration with Globomedia, makes I'm alive one of the most recent television revelations after the broadcast of its first season. Followed by viewers and recognized by Spanish critics, it has also garnered the interest of the North American audiovisual giant, which has named the series with the title Far Rockaway and has begun an adaptation process that is in an initial phase.
Thanks to the agreement reached by Imagina International Sales (commercial arm of the Mediapro group), the adaptation for the US will follow the plots of the series created by Daniel Écija. The person in charge of this will be David Wilcox (666 Park Avenue, Fringe, Legends), who will also serve as executive producer alongside Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek: Discovery) y Heather Kadin (Instinct).
As in the Spanish original, Far Rockaway It will also focus on a detective murdered in the line of duty who receives a second chance: he will be able to return to the world of the living in the body of another police officer to catch his murderer and recover his family.
Starring in Spain by renowned names in acting such as Javier Gutiérrez, Anna Castillo, Alejo Sauras, Cristina Plazas and Alfonso Bassave, the second season of I'm alive It premiered yesterday on La 1 with 1,665,000 viewers and 11.5% share. Almost 4.4 million people saw some moment of the return of Márquez, the Link and the entire great family of the series.
