The RTVE Chair at the University of Zaragoza presents the results of its first technological challenge to the scientific community

En julio de 2017, RTVE y la Universidad de Zaragoza iniciaron un trabajo conjunto de investigación en el campo de la Inteligencia Artificial aplicada al sector audiovisual.

Iberspreech RTVE Challenge

The Cátedra RTVE en la Universidad de Zaragoza ha celebrado en la Real Academia de Ingeniería en Madrid la Jornada Iberspeech-RTVE-Challenge 2018: desarrollo y análisis de resultados, en la que se han analizado las conclusiones de su primer reto tecnológico lanzado a la comunidad científica.

In July 2017, RTVE and the University of Zaragoza began joint research work in the field of Artificial Intelligence applied to the audiovisual sector and signed the creation of a joint chair. Among its objectives was the launch of a challenge to the scientific and research community to understand the scope of speech technologies. It was launched last spring and the deadline for participation and presentation of results concluded on October 21.

This Wednesday, the development of the challenge, chronology, quantity and characteristics of the media made available to participants, sections and degree of participation were announced. In addition, the speech technologies used by the entities that have presented have been discussed in a round table with experts.

Finally, a (blind) analysis of the results of the different sections of the challenge has been carried out. The names of the winners of the challenge will be announced at the conference Iberian speech which will take place in Barcelona from November 21 to 23.
