AMC Networks International (AMCNI) has appointed Manuel Balsera nuevo director general de AMC Networks International Southern Europe (AMCNISE) and Executive Vice President of AMC Networks International. Balsera will report to Eduardo Zulueta, recently appointed President of AMCNI.

Balsera currently held the position of Senior Vice President at AMC Networks International Southern Europe, supervising the Sales, Marketing, Digital and Business Development areas for the company's 24 channels in Spain, Portugal and France. Balsera has an extensive professional career as a manager in companies such as: Proximity BBDO, ONO or Vivendi, among others.

Balsera has an outstanding teaching career as a guest professor at different business schools in Europe, Asia and Latin America and is a professor of several master's degrees and programs at the ESIC and ICEMD.

In addition, he has a Law Degree and a Diploma in Communication Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, a Diploma in Media Management and Marketing Communications from the University of Missouri-Columbia; He has master's degrees in Business Management and Communication; and has completed several management programs at IESE Business School and MIT.

MC Networks International Southern Europe produces and distributes 24 thematic television channels for the markets of Spain, Portugal, France and Italy designed for all types of audiences: Cinema and series (AMC, Canal Hollywood, SundanceTV, DARK, XTRM, Somos and Blast); factual (Odyssey, HISTORY, Crime + Investigation and BLAZE); lifestyle (Canal Cocina and Canal Decasa); musical (Sun Music); and children's (Panda and Biggs Channel).

HISTORIA, BLAZE and Crime + Investigation are produced for Spain and Portugal through The History Channel Iberia, a joint venture between AMC Networks International Southern Europe and A+E Networks.

Canal Hollywood, Canal Panda and Biggs are produced exclusively for the Portuguese market through DREAMIA, a company 50% owned by AMC Networks International Southern Europe and NOS.
