Vantec and Academia RTP analyze the possibilities of IP production in a conference
Pedro Ferreira, software developer, founder of Bisect and consultant to EBU and Eurovision Academy, addresses in this session the concept and paradigm of video production over IP, its advantages and limitations.
The Portuguese integrator Vantec in collaboration with Academia RTP, a Portuguese Radio and Television initiative focused on training, this July in Lisbon organized a journey on the possibilities of television production over IP.
The event featured the support Avid which currently already has a whole line of graphic systems, virtual and video-based servers on IP meeting AIMS standards.
To analyze this new IP environment, more than 150 professionals from brocasters, production companies and institutions gathered at the João Soares Louro Auditorium of Portuguese public television.
Alexandre Roriz, CEO of Vantec, opened the day by addressing some of the projects that the integrator has already carried out on IP video. In particular, a project that is in the implementation phase stands out and has 20 virtual set channels, 6 information graphics channels, 12 video-graphics channels and 48 graphics channels for video walls and LED walls. This entire infrastructure is based on IP video, thus improving agility in deployment and flexibility in its use.
Afterwards, Pedro Ferreira, software developer, founder of Bisect, and consultant for EBU and Eurovision Academy, addressed in detail the concept and paradigm of video production over IP, its advantages and limitations, the current moment of the solutions, his experience in Eurovision and AIMS and how he sees the future of technologies based on this paradigm.
After the success of the call and the interest aroused among attendees, Vantec is already considering organizing another day to delve even deeper into these issues that are transforming the broadcast industry.
