The Local Public Business Entity of Sant Cugat del Vallès adopts in its radio station an infrastructure based on Dante with a digital console AEQ Forum IP Split, with the surface embedded and separated from its core.
The Local Public Business Entity of Sant Cugat del Vallès (Cugat.cat) wanted to give a new boost to your radio broadcasts renewing his studies. The history of EPEL Cugat.cat dates back to 1982, with the beginning of Radio Sant Cugat broadcasts. With the experience of this medium, the local public audiovisual service was born, becoming a benchmark in the proximity communication sector in Catalonia with the radio station 91.5 FM, the online television channel Cugat TV and the electronic newspaper www.cugat.cat.
The director of the entity, Monica Lablanca, together with the radio's technical team, opted for a change to digital to more adequately address the new technical requirements and exponentially increase the station's operational flexibility.
Within this innovative impulse, EPEL Cugat.cat decides to change the two analog audio tables in its studios for modern digital tables AEQ Split IP Forum. These consoles belong to the latest generation of AEQ digital consoles with Dante technology.
Simplicity and control power are combined in these consoles to cover both the most basic operating needs and the most advanced. Its modular design (from 4 to 24 faders) adapts perfectly to different scenarios: self-control, studio control, television production controls, sound production, mixed configurations, integration in large installations...
In addition, for greater integration with the station's existing infrastructure, various AoIP interfaces, AEQ Netbox 32 and Netbox 4MH, both in the central control and in the call room.
This range of Netbox interfaces allows you to convert any analog or digital audio in our system to the Dante – AES67 standard, making it compatible with installed equipment or those from other manufacturers.
AEQ Netbox 32 AD has 32 input channels and 32 output channels, divided into 16 mono analog and 8 stereo digital. Due to its large input and output capacity, it is especially suitable for central controls and link rooms, or for expanding or relocating audio matrices.
On the other hand, AEQ Netbox 4MH is ideal for small and medium-sized installations due to its small size. It consists of 4 high-quality microphone inputs and headphone outputs.
The entire installation has been led by technician Marius Caral in collaboration with AEQ's central technical services and the advice of AEQ's commercial manager in the area, Nacho Olivella.
