From this season, and thanks to the agreement signed for the next three seasons between Telefónica and the ACB From now until 2021, fans can enjoy it live and exclusively on Movistar+ of all the parties of the Endesa League, the Copa del Rey and the Endesa Super Cup.

Throughout these three seasons, Telefónica will produce more than a thousand basketball games with a leading role in #Vamos, the new exclusive sports window for all Movistar+ customers. Thus, in #Vamos you can see the best match of each weekend in the Endesa League and in Movistar Deportes, fans enjoy the rest of the day.

Both the ACB and Telefónica are making an effort to achieve new levels in broadcasting and technological innovation, creating a strategic plan for the development and growth of emissions over the coming seasons.

This level of production, agility and cost optimization in coverage would not have been possible without the implementation of remote production for the first time in a deployment that Telefónica Broadcast Services (TBS) and Telefónica Audiovisual Services (TSA) are carrying out to TAD (Movistar).

For remote production, TBS has two mobile units equipped with Focus 75 Live cameras. Grass Valley supplied by Crosspoint.

But in this case, it is the sending of the signals from the basketball court to the Telefónica center in Tres Cantos (Madrid) that makes the difference compared to a local production.

Telefónica is using transmission equipment Net Insight, supplied by Boy, your partner in Spain. Mome has actively collaborated both in the pilot and in testing and support. For the main road, a Nimbra MSR 680. This solution allows the transport of high quality media (video, audio and data). The Nimbra MSR can transport SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 4K UltraHD (quad-SDI) video in baseband or with high-quality, low-latency JPEG 2000 compression. On this occasion, the choice was made to transport the compressed signal over a network of dedicated links.

The advantage of Nimbra MSR technology is its great flexibility as it allows you to freely mix and match native video with SMPTE 2022 IP interfaces, service by service, for a smooth transition to an IP infrastructure, always ensuring the best quality in a critical environment such as the broadcast of a high-level basketball game. In addition, it supports secure Carrier Ethernet type data services on the same platform.

The Swedish company has designed the Nimbra MSR with a high level of redundancyat the hardware level, with the possibility of hot swapping modules, and services, with Hitless protection for all services. However, Telefónica has opted for a more innovative solution by implementing a secondary or backup route over a network of public internet thanks to the platform Net Insight VA 225, which combines the encoding and decoding of multiple signals in H264 with various error correction techniques.

The VA 225 from Net Insight allows you to encode and decode up to 4 parallel HD or SD channels with a flexible configuration of inputs and outputs. Using a powerful combination of multipurpose ASI/SDI ports and up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet, it ensures that the H264 signal arrives on time in the event of a failure of the main JPEG2000 signal.
