Clear-Com mourns the loss of one of the industry's great visionaries, Peter Giddings

The industry fires one of its great visionaries, Peter Giddings, who always worked closely with his wife Judy, in directing Clear-Com achieving great success for more than forty years.
Prior to joining Clear-Com, Peter and Judy were instrumental in introducing major European brands to the US market, including Beyerdynamic, Revox and Studer.
Peter first came into contact with Clear-Com co-founder, Bob Cohen, in the early 1970s, while representing Beyerdynamic, which provided headphones that worked with Clear-Com intercom systems. During their time at Clear-Com, Peter and Judy introduced and expanded the brand into international markets, playing an important role in developing the company's global presence.
Peter Giddings was instrumental in developing a strong international distributor network in areas of the world where it was difficult to do business during the 1980s and 1990s, including China, India and many parts of Latin America.
Giddings' sense of live, event-based communications was driven by a strong appreciation for professional audio engineering coupled with a personal passion for motorsports; worked to develop communications solutions for professional racing teams and built relationships in this demanding market segment that is still delivering results today. His understanding of the special requirements necessary for large-scale events also influenced Clear-Com's early activities in the sports sector and was instrumental in the development of the company's continued participation in high-profile global events such as the Olympic Games.
Bob Boster, president of Clear-Com, said that “the Clear-Com community mourns the passing of one of our visionary founders who did so much to get us to where we are today.”
“Not only did it open up many new markets, but we also recognize the importance that Peter and Judy had in the development of certain products within the Partyline portfolio, some of which have continued into further development to meet critical customer needs to this day.” “Peter was one of a kind and we will miss him greatly,” acknowledges Boster.
