This is Artist 1204: Riedel's new communications node that offers 1,024 ports in two rack units

Riedel marcó la pauta hace diez años en distribución, enrutado y procesamiento de señales con el lanzamiento de Mediornet, una plataforma de la que se han instalado más de 5.000 nodos en todo el mundo configurando redes de media y transporte de señales distribuidas y basada en tecnologías IT en diferentes entornos.

Una década más tarde, Riedel vuelve a sorprender en este caso con el lanzamiento en NAB 2019 de Artist 1024.

Fulfilling the norma SMPTE 2110-30/31 (AES67), Artist-1024 es el siguiente paso evolutivo en el desarrollo continuo del ecosistema de intercomunicación Artist pudiendo desplegar desde 8 a 1024 puertos.

Ángel González subraya la versatilidad de la nueva propuesta ya que una infraestructura que hoy trabaja en MADI podría con Artist migrar mañana a IP con solo una actualización de software. También reseña la fuerte redundancia que ofrece (soporta múltiples esquemas de redundancia, incluyendo N+1, NIC y SMPTE 2022-7), la posibilidad de operar con multidomonios de sincronía y el potencial que presenta para crear anillos de fibra conectando el resto de miembros de la familia Artist.

Esta última incorporación al ecosistema Artist introduce una serie de innovaciones técnicas centradas en las Universal interface cards (IIC) Definable by software. This completely new type of interface card combines network connection, mixture and management, and can be configured to act as an AES67 or Madi subscriber card, or as a fiber/routing/processor card. Changing the type of connectivity is as easy as reconfiguring IIC with a simple click on the director's configuration software.

The plot provides ten positions for the IIC, two of which are reserved exclusively for the route and network connection of the UICs. The remaining eight bays can be equipped with IIC from various configurations to provide connectivity to subscribers. The mixer integrated in each subscriber can be climbed from 8 to 128 ports per card and can access the 1,024 ports of the artist trunk network. In addition, there are four expansion slots available for several GPIO or synchronization applications.

Artist-1024 also introduces a new flexible and easy -to -use licensing system, with licenses at Framce level instead of connectivity type licenses. Each node begins with a license of Virtual Artist Matrix (VAM), which includes a defined number of ports (16 to 1,024) that can be distributed freely through the node subscription cards. In addition to these licenses blocked by nodes, there are also flexible licenses that allow a rapid reconfiguration of the system simply by moving capabilities between nodes.
