Hispasat

Hispasat attend one more year Washington Satellite, the most important fair in the satellite sector internationally, which brings together its main protagonists and hundreds of companies and exhibitors from today until next Wednesday, May 8.

During this fair, the operator will present the latest developments in solutions and services, as well as the new business models it is developing to bring satellite broadband to rural areas where there are no terrestrial solutions with quality connectivity. In this sense, it is worth highlighting the solution of Internet access developed with Facebook to connect the unconnected in Brazil, based on the installation of satellite WiFi points in different locations.

The objective of the projects satellite WiFi connectivity, which Hispasat is also developing in Colombia, is that inhabitants of regions where terrestrial telecommunications networks do not reach can enjoy the Internet to access the benefits offered by the digital world through a simple solution that adapts to the needs and economic availability of each user, through a system of prepaid vouchers.

Innovative solutions

Hispasat will also present at its stand a set of advanced satellite terminals for the field of mobility, security, emergencies and IoT, among others. It will show the Smartellite portable terminal from the manufacturer hiSKy, which enables affordable satellite communications for voice and data services anywhere. This is a new technology that drastically reduces the size of the antenna, which works through a simple electronic pointing system that facilitates the installation and configuration of the terminal by people without technical knowledge.

On the other hand, it will show the MicroSAT L/M mobile terminal of the company GetSAT, based on its InterFlat technology, capable of both transmitting and receiving satellite signals. This mobile terminal is ideal for critical missions and security environments, given its easy deployment, small size, weight and energy consumption.

Likewise, Hispasat will have a sample of the terminal Ovzon T5, aimed at applications such as emergency services, protection of critical infrastructures, security and broadcast. The Ovzon Ku-band terminal, transportable like a backpack, is lightweight, easy to use and has an integrated battery. In addition, it is possible to remotely control the terminal from a smartphone, tablet or laptop.

Finally, the Hispasat stand will have an antenna developed together with the company Phasor specially designed to adapt to the requirements of land mobility applications. Thanks to this flat antenna, just 5 cm. high, professional vehicles will be connected via satellite in any environment in which they must operate during all their journeys.

Hispasat at conferences

The Business Director of Hispasat, Ignacio Sanchis, will participate in a round table that will be held within the framework of the fair with the title Ka-Ku-Band Backhaul Solutions for a New Wireless Age. In this session, invited executives will talk about new emerging solutions that are emerging in remote regions to take full advantage of the technical options offered by the Ku and Ka frequency bands.

Besides, Antonio Abad Martin, technical and operations director of Hispasat, will participate in the conferences organized by the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) and the US Future Space Leaders Foundation. These conferences seek to connect the ideas of students and young professionals in the satellite sector with the experience and knowledge of leaders in the aerospace industry.
