David Victori shoots his new feature film 'You won't kill' in Barcelona

Starring Mario Casas and produced by Filmax, the film has the participation of Televisión Española, Televisió de Catalunya and Movistar.

For six weeks, Barcelona will be the setting for filming the new thriller David Victori (The Pact, Zero). Starring Mario Casas and with the debutante Milena Smit, you will not kill will reach the screens with Filmax in 2020 and has the participation of Televisión Española, Televisió de Catalunya and Movistar.

David Victori (Barcelona, ​​1982) has developed an interesting career between the United States and Spain. After being Bigas Luna's personal assistant for more than five years and participating in the scripts of Son of Cain (2012, Lluís Monllaó) or Second origin (2014, Carles Porta), Victori directed several short films, including Reaction (2008) y The blame (2010) winner of several international awards.

In 2011, Victori won the first YouTube Film Festival organized by Scott Free (Ridley Scott's production company) and Michael Fassbender and was selected by the international magazine Variety as one of the ten Spanish directors to follow in the coming years. From the Festival prize, was born Zero (2015) a half-million dollar web series produced by Scott Free and Michael Fassbender available on YouTube. In 2018 he released his first feature film The pact, starring Belén Rueda and Darío Grandinetti.

About this new project, Laura Fernandez, a Filmax producer, highlights the moment when Victori presented the project to them, they were “hooked from minute zero to the premise of the film: could a good guy, an ordinary person, like any of us, kill someone?” "The main challenge of the project is to get the viewer to support the main character and manage to take the journey with him. Mario Casas is in charge of giving life to Dani and leading a cast in which we have a large pool of new actors and actresses, such as the magnetic newcomer Milena Smit", explains Carlos Fernández, producer of Filmax.

Regarding the casting, David Victori assures that "for this character I have always thought of Mario (Casas). I think it is the metamorphosis of his character, only through Mario's eyes will the audience live from the truth. Seeing him transforming into this character is being a very powerful and inspiring experience."

Mario Casas comments that upon reading the script "I immediately thought that I wanted to immerse myself there. I have never played a character like that and I loved the challenge. It is the thriller that I have always wanted to do."

Laura Fernández also highlights how "the talented David Victori will be in charge of directing for 6 weeks a team headed by some of the best professionals in the film sector: Jordi Vallejo, with a script full of unexpected twists, sensuality and rhythm; and the photography of Elías M. Félix and the art design of Balter Gallart among others. A shoot mainly at night, with a handheld camera, in which we will experiment with new formats and optics that will allow us to give the film the quality and intentionality that we seek.”

The film recreates the life of Dani, a good boy who during the last years of his life has dedicated himself exclusively to taking care of his sick father, who decides to resume his life after his death. Just when he has decided to embark on a long trip, he meets Mila, a girl as disturbing and sensual as she is unstable, who will turn that night into a true nightmare. The consequences of this meeting will take Dani to such an extreme that she will consider things she could never have imagined.
