Filmax Gran Vía Cinemas opens its first triple screen Screen

This new technology, which is only present in 200 theaters around the world, allows the viewer to enjoy a unique and differential immersive experience, making them feel part of the film and the action.

Los Filmax Gran Vía Cinemas in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona) will inaugurate on June 21 the triple pantalla Screen X, the first theater in Catalonia that extends the traditional cinema screen to the side walls of the auditorium creating a 270-degree viewing experience.

This new technology, which is only present in 200 theaters around the world, allows the viewer to enjoy a unique and differential immersive experience, making them feel part of the film and the action.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is the film that will inaugurate this new cinematographic experience starting June 21. The following titles will follow: Spider-Man: Far From Home (July 5), Annabelle comes home (July 12) and Fast&Furious: Hobbs & Shaw (August 1).

The Filmax Gran Vía Cinemas are the only cinemas in Spain that have two rooms in the same exhibition complex that allow the viewer to choose the immersive cinematographic experience that best suits their tastes: The Triple Screen Screen X (162 seats) and the 4DX Room (84 seats). The latter was inaugurated last November and has enjoyed great success since then.

The sala 4DX incorporates up to a total of 21 synchronized effects into the projection. Thus, the viewer has the opportunity to see the main premieres with effects of movement, air, water, heat, aromas, vibrations, as well as meteorological elements such as fog, wind, lightning and bubbles.

The South Korean company CJ has been responsible for the entire installation in both rooms.
