Rising Alternative brings opera to the big screen
More than 160 movie theaters in Spain participate in the broadcast of opera and ballet productions managed by Rising Alternative.
Rising Alternative, an international alternative content programming company in movie theaters, with more than 2,700 affiliated screens around the world, has presented the new 2016-17 season of opera and ballet in movie theaters.
The best productions from theaters such as the Liceu in Barcelona, the Paris Opera, La Scala in Milan or the Vienna Opera, to name just a few, can be seen in cinemas in cities such as A Coruña, Alicante, Badajoz, Barcelona, Bilbao, Cáceres, Cádiz, Cartagena, Córdoba, Girona, León, Lleida, Logroño, Madrid, Marbella, Murcia, Oviedo, Salamanca, San Sebastián, Santander, Santiago de Compostela, Seville, Tarragona, Valencia, Valladolid, Zamora…
There are more than 160 movie theaters in Spain that have participated so far in the dissemination of productions managed by Rising Alternative (with the average number of affiliated theaters per event being around one hundred).
Giovanni Cozzi, president of Rising Alternative, highlights that "opera in the cinema is a unique experience. Not only does it bring the passion of opera to cities where there is little or no original programming; it also does so at reduced prices and offering, thanks to the audiovisual production, incredible details of the staging. The quality of the digital sound in many theaters also contributes to the comprehensive experience."
Part of the shows will be broadcast live from affiliated theaters: Madame Butterfly de Puccini, Samson and Delilah by Saint-Saëns, Macbeth, by Verdi… And the delayed mode includes Tosca, de Puccini; Idomeneusby Mozart, Fausto of Gounod, and the Cavalleria Rusticiana / Clowns, by Mascagni and Leoncavallo...
The 2016-2017 program includes up to four leading roles by Jonas Kaufmann, considered by many the best tenor in the world at the moment. Anna Netrebko, Plácido Domingo and Carlos Álvarez, among other figures, will also reach movie theaters thanks to the Rising Alternative programming.
