Production solutions Ross Video, including production mixer Carbonite Ultra and the graphic platform XPression, made different productions possible at the E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) event held last week. Paperlyte Films, a production partner for important large event and eSports clients such as Twitch, Facebook Gaming and Ubisoft, was in charge of production

Bryce Richardson, executive producer at Paperlyte Films, acknowledges that “we have had a very positive experience so far integrating the Carbonite Ultra production switcher into our production environments.”

“We often operate with limited space, setup time and highly technical shows, and the Carbonite Ultra mixer helps us deliver on all fronts,” he adds.

Automation

Ross Talk is another powerful solution that has helped elevate Paperlyte productions to the highest level by graphics and effects automation that must be done at the right time to maximize the impact on the audience. “We continue to leverage even more of the power of Ross through direct integration with XPression, enabling amazing live harmonization that can't be easily achieved with other switches,” says Richardson.

Paperlyte operators have already benefited from the Ross solutions that have been implemented. David Greene, technical director at Paperlyte, says Carbonite is his preferred production mixer because Carbonite Ultra gives him the ability to consistently meet the needs of his clients and managers, even when changes are needed in the air. “As a TD, you never know when a client or director might have an idea on the fly for an animation or look box, and the ability to bring someone's idea to life while it's still on display helps create the best experience,” says Greene.

“I wouldn't want to do these programs on any other switch,” he concludes.
