Visual Media Broadcast (VMB) has become the first user of the new intercom system LaON Genie in Europe. Conceived as a convergent digital intercom system, it aims to transform the traditional concept of intercom.

Distributed throughout Europe by Broadcast Solutions, the Genie intercom system supplied to VMB consists of a base station, several repeaters, 16 beltpacks and various accessories.

Visual Media Broadcast was founded nine years ago in Madrid, and since then it has become a strategic partner for television networks, production companies, advertising agencies, universities and educational institutions throughout Spain. Among the first television programs that Visual Media Broadcast will produce with its new LaON Genie system is the third season of a very popular children's entertainment program broadcast by the largest pay television channel in Spain.

In addition to this operation with VMB, Broadcast Solutions is experiencing high demand for LaON intercom systems. Recently, the ESA Sports Group has invested in an LT750 LaON system for use in all its sports productions in the north of Spain. During productions, ESA Sports divides the system into groups (of up to five), to ensure communication from the master control to all moving cameras in a stadium/venue. In this way, a single repeater ensures wide signal coverage to connect with all wireless beltpacks.

With Genie, six remote antennas, 60 speaker stations (1RU panels with gooseneck microphones and eight direct communication buttons), 60 Ethernet beltpacks (wired beltpacks with four direct communication buttons), or 60 repeaters can connect to a base station using PoE and offering 128 wireless beltpack connections at the same time. Operating at 7.2kHz, the LaON system offers excellent audio quality with a latency of just 23ms. In addition, it works in the UNII 5GHz band, providing exceptional connection quality and avoiding interference.
