SlomoTv will present new functions for its 4K Dominator AT/12G production server at IBC

The new version of the Dominator server, which works in 3G/HD repeat mode, allows operators to simultaneously manage 14 recording channels, 14 search channels, 2 playback channels + FX.

In IBC 2019 (stand 8.B40), SlomoTv will demonstrate important new functionality in your 4K broadcast production server, Dominator AT/12G. It will now be possible to work with 3G/HD signals and has introduced new features that make the server suitable for system integration in both studio and mobile units.

First presented at IBC 2018, Dominator AT/12G is equipped with 12G SDI interfaces and supports 662 configuration for 4K resolution: 6 recording + 6 search + 2 playback channels + FX.

Coinciding with IBC 2019, SlomoTv has expanded the capabilities of the server by working with 3G/HD signals. While the previous model had the same 662 settings for all resolutions, now the latest version that works in 3G/H repeat modeD allows operators to simultaneously manage 14 recording channels, 14 search channels, 2 playback channels + FX. A second workplace option for the Dominator AT/12G server supports two replay operators working in parallel and independently in 772 mode: 7 record + 7 search + 2 playback channels + FX.

With this expanded functionality, Dominator AT/12G is suitable for use in eSports, where the main requirement is the support of a large number of incoming 3G signals in a single device.

The latest version of Dominator offers a platform for versatile server for studios and mobile units, since the choice of equipment intended for UMs focuses on the ability to use it for both multichannel recording and slow motion replays. The server is designed to work with a large number of channels, to provide slow-motion replays of major sports competitions and recording for non-linear editing of large-scale television programs and events.

On the other hand, it provides Simultaneous recording of up to 16 channels of HD video with ProRes 422 or AVID DNxHD codecs on hard drives or NAS. Dominator AT/12G is equipped with 8 DMR Racks for tool-less, tray-less installation of standard 3.5″ SATA hard drives.

Michael Gilman, CEO of SlomoTv, comments that "the concept of 'the server grows with you' is now applicable to Dominator AT/12Gl. In addition to hardware and software upgrades, the server sales scheme has also undergone changes, allowing customers to purchase only the capacities necessary for current tasks and not pay extra for unused ones."

“If there is no need to work with 4K signals, the user can purchase a server in basic configuration to work with 3G/HD for 70K euros, and then add 4K support for only 10,000 euros,” he adds.

The server is equipped with four graphic outputs, providing each operator workstation with two monitors to display the main and multi-screen interface. The server has built-in high-speed 10GbE interfaces for recording to NAS and speeding up sharing of clips and playlists when working over the network.
